ABOUT CITRIC ACID

A white powder with no odour but a tart taste, citric acid is used to flavour many soft drinks and snacks.

I do like to mention that like any powder, take care not to inhale it while working or cleaning with it and keep it away from children, their noses are much closer than ours when working with it and their lungs are a little more tender.

Also my personal opinion is that over use has the potential to cause irritation or urinary tract infections. This is completely my own theory from my 4 year old daughter's experience when we first discovered bath bombs and used them once or twice a day for a week or so (she got a urinary tract infection so I cut her way back and she hasn't had any problems since) Just thought I should mention it.

CITRIC ACID

Citric Acid is one of those items that I don't like to be without. I use it both a cleaning agent in almost every room as well as in personal care items such as in bath bombs and fizzing bath powders.

I can't help but use it in almost anything I make that contains baking soda, the fizz effect is fun and unique. After using them in the bath I always feel fresher and I feel it gives the same effect in my home cleaning products as well.

Add to rinse water to take soap residue from hair, I use it in my dishwasher and also when I hand wash dishes. I use it also with baking soda to clean my toilet and bath tub.

And of course a bath bomb wouldn't be a bath bomb without it!

I love to add it at a 1:2 ratio with baking soda in milk and salt soaks for the bath as well.
